Behavioral Health & Wellness Program Team (BHWP)
At BHWP, we are a diverse multidisciplinary team who are committed to creating systems that support the health and wellness of the organization, its employees, and the people they serve. Our mission is to improve quality of life by facilitating evidence-based health behavior change for communities, organizations, and individuals. As experts on health behavior change, we believe passionately in the power of community-based research, health systems change, education, and awareness.
Stress, Trauma, Adversity, Research & Treatment Center (START Center)
The START Center focuses on treatment, community engagement and programs, and research that promotes trauma-informed care for people of all ages suffering from the effects of loss, trauma, chronic stress and adversity. Our mission is to inspire and support the prevention and healing of stress and traumatic injuries that impact all domains of life. We are dedicated to implementing evidence-based interventions to support those impacted by stressful and overwhelming events.
Past the Pandemic team
In March 2020, the START clinic recruited faculty of various disciplines to launch the Past the Pandemic program as a part of the Department of Psychiatry’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Past the Pandemic program continues to support and connect health care and public health workers in effort to mitigate the impact of overwhelming stress and burnout.

Colorado Springs | Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience
The mission of the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience is to advance human resilience to adversity by designing evidence-based solutions through interdisciplinary research, healing therapies, and community training and empowerment. This is accomplished through the work of our three divisions: Research, Healing, and Community Training & Empowerment (CTE).
The CTE Division is comprised of clinical and organizational psychology professionals. We provide trauma-and-resilience-informed services to organizations and individuals who experience stress and trauma, through proactive education and peer-levels of support. As we increase awareness about stress and trauma experiences and foster pathways to healing, we can create a more resilient population.
