The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment serves Coloradans by providing public health and environmental protection services that promote healthy people in healthy places. Public health professionals use evidence-based practices in the public health and environmental fields to create the conditions in which residents can be healthy. In addition to maintaining and enhancing our core programs, the department continues to identify and respond to emerging issues affecting Colorado’s public and environmental health.

Brooke DeSantis (she/her/hers) is a Public Health and Community Outreach Professional for CO-Cares under the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Florida. Brooke is passionate about mental health, resilience building, mindfulness activities, and trauma-informed approaches through a public health lens.
Andrew Salter (He/Him/His) is a Public Health and Community Outreach Professional for CO-Cares under the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. He holds a bachelor’s in public health with a minor in community health education, is a certified health education specialist, and is attending MSU Denver for his master’s in health administration. Andrew has worked as a team lead in Pediatric Dentistry and recently at Denver Health WIC as a Co-Enrollment Specialist on the HFDK grant. Along with his role at CDPHE, Andrew is currently serving in the United States Army Reserves and is a peer health education facilitator and teaching assistant at MSU Denver. Andrew is passionate about community health and utilizing health education to promote positive health outcomes throughout life, as well as the importance of high quality leadership to ensure healthcare organizational success.
Annalise Morelock (she/her/hers) is a Public Health and Community Outreach Professional for CO-Cares under the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. She has a background in biochemistry and biology, and recently completed her masters in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is passionate about connecting and working with under-resourced communities and co-creating community-led solutions. Outside of the office, you can find Annalise hiking, skiing, climbing, and cooking new recipes.
